Sterling Allen Slagle, 66, of Yuma Arizona, sadly left us on April 10th, 2024 following a battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Sterling was born on August 15, 1957 in San Diego, California. He was the eldest son of John and Avonelle Slagle. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1975. Sterling worked for General Dynamics, the Grossmont School District and the National Elevator Association.

Sterling enjoyed being outdoors, collecting unique treasures, and was a Jack of all trades. He was blessed with a quick, natural, and intelligent sense of humor which brightened the day of those around him. Sterling was a member of the El Cajon Elk's Lodge since 2003 and held the title of Exalted Ruler in 2011-2012.

In 1981, Sterling married Tamra Brackett with whom he shared thirteen children. Sterling married Debby Knapp in 2011 and gained two additional children. He was a remarkable example to both his children and grandchildren.

Sterling is survived by his loving wife Debby, his children Julian (Amanda) Slagle, Justin Slagle, Kimberly (Brett) Palser, Tiffany (Dereck) Hudoba, Courtney Slagle, Kelly (Andrew) Ziemann, Kennnth Slagle, Clarissa (Dustin) Freeman, Kaitlyn (Leonel Ramirez) Slagle, Cassie (Chris) Clark, Timothy Slagle, Abby (Sergio) Magana, Susie Slagle, and his step children David (Princess) Knapp, Jonathan (Kaylee) Knapp, 22 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Sterling is also survived by his former wife Tamra Slagle Thibodo, and his siblings Jon (Jana) Slagle, Yvonne (Dave) Truckey, and Avonelle (Jeff) Grigorieff.

Sterling was preceded in death by parents Avonelle (Gorgeous) and John (Red) Slagle and grand-daughter Esther Grace Slagle.

A celebration of Sterling's life will be held in his honor at 11:00am on April 27, 2024 at the El Cajon Elk's Lodge, 1400 E Washington Ave, El Cajon, CA 92109.

Allen, or Sterling as some call him, has been part of my family since I married his brother, Jon 34 years ago. He has always been supportive, kind, and silly. I love that he has 13 beautiful children, and has been there for each one in a different way. I have fond memories of going on cruises with the family and playing games on the ship. Allen always joined in the games. I was amazed when I saw him ride the unicycle as part of the Living Christmas Tree at Skyline Church. He has left a legacy of blessings to many of us. I will miss him.
