Steve Disque Obituary

Steve B. Disque, 58, Norman, passed away at 4:48 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, in Columbus. Mr. Disque was a member of Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church, Brownstown. He had worked most recently for Force Construction. He had previously worked for Biehle Electric Co., Rose Acre Farms and Farmer's Market in Columbus. He served in the National Guard from 1967 to 1970. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Jackson County Purebred Swine Breeder's Association, 4-H, FFA and Jackson County Pork Producers. Through all these associations, Steve touched the lives of many people. He was a storyteller, a giver to all he met, generous with his time and had a welcoming manner and a knack of making people laugh and he loved family and life. Born Oct. 13, 1949, in Jackson County, he was a son of John F. Disque, Brownstown, and Eunice Disque. His father survives, and his mother preceded him in death. In May 1980, he married Donna Baurle, who survives at Bloomington. Other survivors include a daughter, Margarete Anne Disque, Bloomington; mother- and father-in-law, Louis and Mary Ann Baurle, Seymour; six brothers, Tom (Jan) Disque, Seymour, John Disque, Brownstown, Joe (Marj Itzkowitz) Disque, Brownstown, Jerry (Bonnie) Disque, Auburn, Jim Disque, Brownstown, and Bill Disque, Seymour; four sisters, Terri (Larry) French, North Vernon, Jan (Joe) Lustig, Carmel, Kathy (Joe) Marcisz, Marion, and Donna (Steve) Schuck, Hartford City; and many nieces and nephews. Father Todd Goodson and Father John Hall will conduct a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, with full military rites. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. Memorials may be given to Jackson County Fair c/o Swine Buildings Department. www.w-wfuneralhome.biz
