Steve Vance Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2024.
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Steve LaRoy Vance, of Stacy, MN, on August 16, 2024, at the age of 68.

Steve was born in 1955 in St. Paul, MN, and later moved to the Stacy area in 2006. He grew up attending St. George Greek Orthodox Church and went to Johnson Highschool in St. Paul.

Friends and family enjoyed Steve's sense of humor and laid-back personality. He enjoyed many pastimes, including watching the Minnesota Twins, cooking for others, spending time outdoors - whether hunting, fishing, gardening, or camping - and attending the Minnesota State Fair. He cherished spending time with his family and children and took great joy in doing anything in life with his beloved dog, Piper, by his side. He had many talents including fixing things, training his dogs throughout his life - such as Bud(weiser), Candy, and Nala - and mastering the art of the Irish Good-Bye.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Max; mother, Diane; and brothers, Mike and Bill. Survived by his children, Ricky and Rachel; his siblings, Kim, John (aka Kelly), Cathy Scheidler, Valerie (Michael) Kelley, and Diane McMahon; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Bald Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park, 5800 Hugo Rd, White Bear Lake, MN 55110 on September 21, from 2pm-6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his care team at M Health Fairview - St. Johns and M Health Fairview - University of Minnesota Medical Center.
