Anita and Gord Flynn
September 17, 2008
Dear family,
Please accept our deepest condolences, and our apologies for not writing sooner.
It's been hard trying to compose a letter to you because it's still hard to believe Steve is gone. He was still so young. We'll always think of Steve as the warm, kind and fun guy that he was.
We knew Steve best when we were all in our twenties. We worked together and played together. He organized Gord's stag and will be remembered for that and for being a really nice, friendly, down to earth guy. Gord really enjoyed the many games of softball they played together and the get-togethers afterwards over beer in the bar at the RA Center and at Hemingway's.
We will miss him.
I'm sorry we could not be at his funeral but we were out of town. I hope you can take some comfort in the knowledge that he was loved by many and how sad his passing has made us.
Sincerest regards,
Danny, Debbie Parker

Salut Steve,

To the entire Waite family, It has so many years that I have seen the Bayshore friends and families. Lori, I still have fond memories of our years spent together with Lisa Crapnell, Laurie and myself. Your family was really well known... lots of activity and teenagers coming in and out of their home all the time. I remember having a crush on Steve... wanting to be at your house to be around him. He is well remembered with a sly scense of humor and gentleness. His photo is all to refreshing. Glad to see he kept the mustache! Know that he is only gone from our eyes. I know the Lord is glad to have him. He will make them smile. May your hearts heal from the sorrow of his departure. Until we all meet again... Gods blessings be with you.

Deepest sympathy to all of the Waite family. Steve was a fantastic person and what a great sense of humour he had. I am shocked of his passing as I had the chance to speak with him only 3 weeks ago. I pray for him and believe we will all meet again and share everlasting happiness.God bless Steve.

Dear Waite Family,
While Pierre and I had not been in contact with Steve for many years we would often fondly reminisce about the "Bayshore" days and all the good times we had with Steve and so many others. Steve will not be forgotten as those memories remain in our hearts.

I'm not quite sure what to say. I'm in total shock!! I knew Steve was off work due to his health, but I never expected this. I first met Steve in 1980 at work and always found him to be such a fun and pleasant person. I'm very saddened to say the least. His family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and God Bless.

Greg (and family): It is with a very heavy heart that I forward this to you.
I am very saddened right now but I choose to remember the best vacation I have ever spent, it was in the south of Spain and like in floor hockey, Steve was at the center of it all. He was someone I looked up to and hold many fond memories of. Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you at his difficult time.

Greg (and family): There are many families we refer to as "corner stones" in a community and the Waite Family was one of those families in Bayshore....and Steve was a big reason for it. He had a positive influence on a lot of us "young Bayshore impressionables" who looked up to him....Steve was oe of the "cool guys" who was never "too big" to give us some of his time. As we all got older, it was fun to have a beer together and talk floor hockey, sports, women, and life in general. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. Steve will be missed.

Condolences to the Waite family. I was privileged to have known Steve while I grew up in that wonderful community known to a privileged group of us, Bayshore. I know he will be sorely missed as will his wit and ever present smile. Words always seem so trite in circumstances such as this.

Dear Greg & Niki,
I was so sad to hear about Steve. He was one of my "funniest" friends. I have so many memories of Steve over the 35 years that we were friends and they still make me laugh. Even though for the past couple of years, I didn't see Steve, I always knew there was a chance that I would and it is hard now to know that it won't happen. Take care of yourselves, Greg & Niki, and please pass on my condolences to the rest of your family.

Growing up in our neighborhood there were cornerstone families - fixtures in the community. Everyone knew them. The Waites were one of those families. Big brother Steve was out there front and center with a big smile, a quick line and an easygoing nature. He will be missed. Condolences from all of the Arundels, Lois, Cathy, Mike and Mary-Kay.
