Steven Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2025.

A great man bid adieu to all things bright and beautiful on June 3rd of 2025. Dr. Steven Jay Anderson age 84 was a man with a wicked sense of humor and a brain that rivaled any latest AI. He was a compassionate physician and a lover of nature. Steve had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was able to retain information from anything that he pursued. He was generous in sharing his knowledge and his daughter Dao was the lucky recipient of his teachings regardless if she wanted to or not. Steve was a fascinating individual who had many wonderful hobbies. He left behind a lasting legacy, a mountain of books, a field of cowboy boots and a forest of digeridoos, but unfortunately he did not leave behind his large brain. Steve was an only child, he grew up on a farm in Tremonton with his parents Bill and Margrette and a dog named Fido. Steve met his former wife Dr. Sara Jane Andersen at the U of U medical school, their marriage ended after 15 years. He later married his best friend Dr. Jayne Belnap, together they traveled the world and retired in Moab. He left behind his beloved wife Jayne, children Dao Wahlen, Tom Wahlen, Tina Kister, and Edward Keyes; grand kids Jack and Liz Wahlen and Hayley Knopf; and his fur baby Shotzi the rescued dog. Dear friends and family, in leu of flowers please make a donation on his behalf to the animal shelters. Unlike his favorite poem " Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas, Steve went gentle and peacefully into that goodnight.
