Steven Barnett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 13, 2025.
Steven Barnett, 43, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. Born on August 1, 1981, in Indianapolis, Steve spent his life surrounded by the people and city he loved.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Samantha Barnett; his beloved daughters, Penny Lane Barnett and Lucy Sky Barnett; his mother, Linda Barnett; his father, Tice Barnett, Jr; and his brothers, Jason Barnett and Brian Barnett (Shawnie). Steve was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Victoria Barnett; his paternal grandparents, Tice Barnett, Sr. and Martha Wright; and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth R. Roberts and Joan T. Galm Roberts.

Steve's spirit was shaped by his deep love for his family and friends - and for his loyal dog, Quest, who was truly like another child to him. An artist at heart, Steve found joy in woodworking and refinishing furniture, with a special passion for mid-century modern design. His hands brought new life to forgotten pieces, just as his kindness touched the lives of many around him.

An adventurer by nature, Steve loved traveling, hiking, and kayaking. Whether on a trail or on the water, he felt most at home in the beauty of the outdoors. He had a special place in his heart for those who often felt overlooked by society, offering friendship and understanding to the outcasted and unseen.

In the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Steve was a bit of a "know-it-all" - in the best way. He had an unmatched love for the city's small businesses and took pride in getting to know the owners and their stories, always eager to support and celebrate his community. He found solace in his faith and was a member of Emmanuel Church of Greenwood.

In his final act of generosity, Steve was able to save the lives of three individuals through the gift of organ donation, a true reflection of the compassion and selflessness he lived by every day.

Steve's legacy is one of creativity, compassion, and connection. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will take place:

Date/Time: Saturday, May 17th, 2025. 12-3pm
