Jaydon Jacob Ekern Age 15, of Rice Lake, WI, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his home. He was born on December 5, 2007 in Rice Lake to Cody Ekern and Jessica Salo. Jaydon was a freshman at Rice Lake High School. He loved listening to music, he played the guitar, keyboard, ukulele and the trombone. Jaydon loved playing video games and was a straight A student and has received many outstanding student awards. In 2012 he went to live with Nancy and Dann Kann and they became the beehive - Worker Bee, Honey Bee and Buddy Bee. As a boy Jaydon loved to go hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, with a little archery thrown in. As he got older, Jaydon got into snowmobiling, driving the side by side and cars. He loved going to the movies with his Gma, learning to drive with Worker in the corvette. He is survived by his father, Cody Ekern; his mother, Jessica (Ta'Cory) Johnson; 3 half brothers, Landyn, Xavier and Ka'Mari; grandparents, John Ekern, Cathy Ekern, and Don & Karla Reed; a special uncle and aunt, Dann and Nancy Kann; and many other uncles, aunts and cousins. A celebration of life will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI with a prayer service to be held at 6:45PM. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Kinship of Rice Lake and Cameron.
