I miss my father every day. It seems like there is something missing. I miss his phone calls. I miss visiting with him. My youngest boys ask about him everday and proudly point to the picture of their pappy on the wall. I pray every day that when it is my time, he is standing there waiting for me. I am so happy that you all took the time to write something about Dad.

Steve was not just one of our regulars, he was part of our staff. At one point we even had a time card made for him. It is so unreal that we will never see him walk through our door and order his lemon aid w/ 3 lemons or his coffee w/ the "sugar in the raw". I wish I had the pleasure of waiting on him when he was in for his last visit but he did call me his usual nickname! I never thought being called "your evilness" would be a nickname I would miss hearing.
I loved hearing his stories of his grandchildren and kids. I feel like I know you all well and I know that he beamed with pride every time he spoke of all! I know I will keep a special place in my heart for Steve as he was a very special man!
May Steve rest in eternal peace and his family find the strength to make it through. Cherish your memories, and keep him alive in your hearts. Share his stories and always know he was a proud pappy and a very happy dad!

As everyone must be, we have been in shock since we learned of Steve's passing. There's an unreality that makes us think that someone made a mistake and that this week we'll be seeing him back in "Steve's seat" at the end of the bar. Over the past four years Steve became part of our restaurant "family." He celebrated his and staff birthdays with us, beamed with pride when talking about his beloved grandchildren, took an interest in being supportive of our staff, and shared many a cigarette on the patio. If we had a board of directors, Steve would have been a member. Steve won't be walking through the door anymore with the smile that was as big as his heart, but we know his presence will continue to be felt for years to come. That's how it is when you lose someone special. God bless you on your next adventure, Steve.
