I knew Steve only through Friday night ice hockey games. Even though Steve was not naturally blessed with a large amount of hockey skills he was always there and seemed to enjoy the game. We also enjoyed Coop (as we called him), many times we would make it our goal to give Coop good passes so that he could score some goals. Coop sometimes drank a couple cold ones with us after the games, but he wouldn't say much, he would mostly just listen, smile, and laugh.
I am deeply saddened by his passing and will miss him for a long time and remember him every time I skate at that rink.
