Steven Leroy Kyle

Steven Leroy Kyle, age 44, of Dafter Township, Michigan, died unexpectedly on March 13, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 16, 1971 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Larry R. and Carolyn (Reamer) Kyle.
Steve moved with his family to Pickford before he was one. He grew up in Pickford and attended Pickford Public Schools. Steve graduated in 1989. He attended Lake Superior State University and then went to work on a freighter on the great lakes. He attended engineers school in Toledo where he was certified as an engineer. In 2006, he married Roberta ""Bobbie"" Heilman. He worked for Great Lakes Towing for 7 years. Since November 2014, he has been working on tug boats for Mcallister Towing in New York.
Steve was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post #3 in Sault Ste. Marie.
Steve loved wood working, gunsmithing, beekeeping and helping his wife with wine making. He was a ""handyman"" who knew how to fix anything.
Steve is survived by his wife, Bobbie Kyle; children: Alex and Danielle; parents, Larry and Carolyn Kyle of Pickford; grandmother, Esther Waybrant of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; mother-in-law, Terry McCasey of Florida; sisters: Kelly (Mark) Terwilliger of Sault Ste. Marie and Kristine (Kevin) Hill of Cedarville; brother-in-law, Robert C. Heilman of Florida; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Nick) Connors of Sault Ste. Marie; aunts, Marj Reamer of Pickford, and Patsy Baker of North Carolina; and uncle, Alan (Cathy) Reamer of Pickford, along with many cousins.
Steve is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ted Reamer and Roy Kyle; grandmother, Rachel Kyle; father-in-law, Robert Heilman; uncles, Steven Reamer and Gary Kyle; and aunt, Lois Kelly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 12-3 p.m. at R. Galer Funeral Home in Pickford, Michigan. Funeral Services are to follow at 3 p.m. Reverend Craig Weihman will be officiating.

Interment will be at Cottle Cemetery in Marquette Township, Pickford.
