I met Steve in the mid 90's when I was consulting with NORTEL. Steve knew his business and was willing to help anyone learn it. He enjoyed working with people, and, worked hard to do the best job possible. We worked on a lot of projects, many at odd hours and unusual places (under the floor or in the ceiling). We shared an office, and many lunches. We spent many hours just talking about whatever topic came to mind. Steve would do anything for a friend even during his last few months. Steve was one of the best friends I've ever had and I was blessed to have known him. I will miss him greatly!

I will always remember Steve as a kind and caring friend. He is now reunited with his mother who he loved deeply. Praying for all of his family for Comfort and Peace during this difficult time. He really loved his family and will be missed by many including me.

We have many memories of Steve when he was young. Blake and Rick would tell stories of the fun times the family had when the 'boys' got together. Since the Rippy & Mevis families had so many boys, there was always something going on! Our condolences to all who knew Steve.

Remembering Steve as a true "gentle"man. His wonderful but devious smile melted many of hearts along the way. To Mr. Mevis, Blake and Dennis...you have my heartfelt condolences and know that he was loved and will be greatly missed by all the people who had the honor to call him friend.

Steve was one of the most caring "gentle"men I have ever known in my life. He had the such charming and devious smile, which I am sure melted many hearts along the way..including mine a long long time ago.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Mr. Mevis, Blake and Dennis and know that Steve will always be remembered and loved by the people who had the honor of being his friend.

The photo of Steve with his motorcycle is how I will remember him. He was a caring person and he was quick to ask how you were doing rather than think of himself. I will always remember his beautiful green eyes and his favorite word "Yelp". Rest in Peace

I had the pleasure of meeting & visiting with Steve in the last month due to a "chance meeting" with his cousin Billy in Nashville. I was so impressed by him and so grateful for our time together. He truly touched my heart in so many ways. I wish I had had one more visit with him before he passed. I know he is in his mother's loving arms. I am glad she was there to meet him.
