Steven Powers Nipe Sr., age 61, has joined the Lord on July 2nd after a short intense illness.

He grew up in Pedricktown and attended both Penns Grove High School and Salem Technical School.

He was a parishioner of Queen of the Apostles R.C. Church in Pennsville where he was a member of the choir and also taught 6th grade PREP classes. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, travel, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also involved with several volunteer service organizations. His favorite time of life was when he owned The Store for Miracles in Pitman, N.J. His store carried sacred, religious and addiction recovery items. Also surviving is his mother, Catherine Nipe of Texas; his brothers, John (Geri) of Texas, and Warren (Ellen) of Sewell and sister, Helen Upperman of Mullica Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Memorial gathering to be held at Queen of Apostles Church on Friday, July 17th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Lighthouse Hospice, 1040 N. Kings Highway, Suite 100, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08034 or The American Cancer Society. Funeral Arrangements under the direction of the LAUGHREY FUNERAL HOME Pennsville, NJ

Good Evening Joan,

I just found out yesterday. Alana and I
have you, Steve, Matthew and your family in prayer. We were so happy to have the opportunity to know Steve for the short amount of time we had with him.
He was a special person and Alana and I always enjoyed our conversations with him. I know he will be a guardian angel to all of us. We so enjoyed bringing our puppy over to spend time with you all.
Love, Alana and Jilda

Joan,
I was so sorry to hear about Steve. I know this is a very difficult time because I am still going through it myself. Steve and Harvey are in a better place and will still continue to take care of us, our families, and friends.
Please know I keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I am here for you, as you were for me.
God Bless,

Joan and Family: We can't begin to express how terribly sorry we are to hear about the loss of your wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Steve was a wonderful man, and it showed in all that he said and did. He gave so much of himself and only asked for a smile in return. No one can explain how or why God chooses those to be his angel’s but he certainly picked one terrific angel who will watch over and protect you. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Let the memories you share help begin to heal your broken heart. All our prayers, Mary & Bill Murphy
