Steven Phillips Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 19, 2024.
Steven Scott Phillips left us this past Tuesday October 15th, 2024. Born in Orange County California on the 19th of January in 1961 he was 63 years old. He was loved by his parents Judith and Ronald Phillips as well as his grandmother Dorothy Felder Crump. His older brother Ronald preceded him in death in 2018 while brothers David (Tina) Phillips and Charles (Linda) Phillips were here to support him is his later years.

He was a generous uncle to 3 nieces and 3 nephews who loved him dearly and made him a great uncle to 5 little ones that never failed to make him smile. In 1983 he married the lovely April Coulombe. Though they parted ways after a time, they remained life-long friends.

As a youngster he loved swimming, camping and the outdoors and was a Boy Scout who attained the rank of Life. He carried this adventurous spirit his whole life enjoying a love for cooking, travel, painting, art and all things crafts. Spending time in Paris and the far East gave him a cosmopolitan flare and an interesting world view. His love for friends and family and getting together with either or both was his greatest joy. He loved to tease the kids and poke fun at his friends, family, and most of all himself.

He spent his life following many paths including working in Computer Administration in an 80's startup. Later he earned his Real Estate license and sold homes for many years. His flare for marketing and administration carried him through to his later working years. His love for animals and causes gave him passion throughout life. Steve was a fighter who survived more than 40 years after being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.

For all those he touched and loved, please join us celebrating his life Sunday November 3rd at 1PM to be held at Oakdale Christian Church, 330 Maxwell, Oakdale. Please consider donations to https://greatergood.org in lieu of flowers.

I had the pleasure of being one of Steven“s home health nurses. With everything that was going on in his life, and with all the pain he was in, he was always polite and appreciative. Such a sweet man. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.
