Steven M. Samberg, passed unexpectedly on May 22, 2018. He was born Dec. 21, 1982 in Duluth, MN.

Steve was a point guard on the 2001 statebound basketball team and a Denfeld graduate. He was currently employed as a supervisor at VERSO. Many will remember Steve as a loving and devoted son and father. He loved spending time with his children, Chloe & Luke; they were his world. Steve was passionate about sports and children; he loved coaching his kids and others' in basketball, football, soccer, t-ball and softball. He also loved fishing with his children and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn & Patricia Samberg; and step-brother, Andy Downs.

Steve will be greatly missed by his parents, Kathy & Peter Downs; children, Chloe & Luke and their mother, Heidi; step-sister, Stephanie (Joe) Husemoller; grandparents, M. George & Barbara Downs; aunts & uncles, Sandy Johnson, Mike (Patty), Debbie Jones, Jim (Susan); many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.

A Memorial Gathering will take place Tuesday, May 29th from 4-8 p.m. with remembrances at 7 p.m. at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N. 56th Ave. W., Duluth.

Interment will be held on Wednesday, May 30th at 11a.m. at Oneota Cemetery.
