Shea, Steven Scott "Chickey"
Nov. 22, 1960 - Jul. 8, 2012
Steven Scott Shea, 51 of Gulf Cove in Englewood, Fl, passed away too soon on July 8, 2012. Steve is survived by Karen his wife of 13 years and his three children Mitchell, Cody and Danielle, his loving mother Joan, his sister Judy, his brother Richard Jr. sister-in-law Sue, his brother Bobby, his brother Jonathan sister-in-law Maggie, sister -in-law Linda and the following nieces and nephews; Tyler, Ryan, Scott, Mathew, Mark, Allen, Sarah, Zachary, Jeffrey, Owen, Madison, and Camden. Steven was redeemed by his father Richard Shea, Brother Thomas and niece Elizabeth.
Steve formerly of Willimantic, Connecticut resided in Englewood Fl for over 20 years. He worked as a water plant operator for the City of North Port where he had given his heart and soul into his job and co-workers. He was an inspiration to all that knew him and would be available to anyone that needed him anytime of the day or night. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him; from his co-workers and staff of the City of North Port to all of his wonderful friends and huge family that Steve dearly loved.
Steve's greatest love was his family. He was a wonderful father always there for his children caring and loving taking time to stop and talk with them, making sure that they always had a special treat when he went to the store or that special surprise for them. Anytime family members would come to visit he made sure that they felt at home. He had a great love to entertain for all that came to the house. Steve would cook on the grill to a delicious perfection and sat back to watch friends and family, making sure that they had everything needed so they could enjoy a great time.
He served in the United States Air Force and would tear up anytime the national anthem was played as he was proud to be an AMERICAN. Steven was a Humanist and an animal lover. May it have been stray cats that needed a home or to a family of raccoons at the water plant that he named and feed. Steve was a full donator and thanks to his caring of others he will be able to give sight to another human. His ability to touch and encourage others was immeasurable. He was the only donator that has been listed in Englewood Hospital in over 7 years. His willing to donate what ever he could encourage some of the wonderful staff in the ICU at Englewood Hospital to sign up. His influence for others to donate will be passed on for years to come.
Steve was a true sports buff. Huge fan of the New England Patriots. We were always impressed how he could keep up on any and all sports. Knowing the teams, players and their scores from his love for Golf to women's soccer teams. He was most proud of his Hole in one he got on a golf tournament as were his family and friends. Steve was our hole in one and he will be terrible missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday July 22 at the Englewood Pavilion by the White Elephant Restaurant from 1pm until 3pm and wake to follow at the Pavilion from 3pm until 6pm. Covered dish is appreciated. Please no glass containers. ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOME TO HONOR STEVE'S LIFE!
A trust fund (UTMA Account #385013161321, Routing #011900254) has been set up for Steve's daughter Danielle Shea. Donations are being received to Bank of America, PO Box 31900, Tampa, Fl 33631-3900. To honor Steve, other donations may be sent to Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Drive, Englewood, Fl 34224.
