LUDLOW - Steven B. Symington, Sr., 54, of Coolidge Ave., died Monday July 5 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Springfield, February 2, 1950 he was the son of the late Wanda (Macierowski) Fournier & Joseph Symington Jr., and the step-son of Francis Fournier. Steve was a 1967 graduate of Ludlow High School and lived in Ludlow most of his life. He was employed by Kleeberg Sheet Metal of Ludlow with over 15 years of service. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 63. He was also a member of Clan Douglas Society of North America, LTD. His hobbies and interests included motorcycles, yard work and being outdoors, and was active in fund raising. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Lappie) Symington; a son, Steven B. Symington Jr. and his wife Joodi of Chicopee; 3 step-daughters, Christine Thurman and her husband Charles of Easthampton, Shelly Cabey and her partner Ryan Vizena of North Haverhill, NH, Melissa Sousa and her partner Shawn Murphy of Chicopee; a sister, Esther Devine and her husband Raymond of Ludlow. Grandfather of Kyle Cabey, Laura Nugent, Derek Thurman, Joven Symington, Mackenzie Jean Murphy. Steven is also survived by his dearest friends, Jimmy and Pat Houle of Ludlow; and many sister and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and a great-great-niece and nephew. Funeral Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Rites of committal will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter, 506 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Bromfield St., Suite 5, Boston, MA 02108.
