Steven Clyde Vass

Steven Clyde Vass was born in Elyria, Ohio on June 28, 1953. He was one of four children born from the union of the late Steven and the late Doris (Pelton) Vass.
Steven married the love of his life, the former Diana Berg on July 12, 1986 in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Steven supported his family through employment at Lear Seating in Romulus, and a proud member of the union Local 174, until taking medical retirement in 2011 after twenty-four faithful years.
Steven was a man of strong character. He was very humorous and enjoyed making others laugh with his sarcasm and
jokes.
He was a car enthusiast; enjoying getting his hands dirty under the hood and putting together plastic models.
Steven spent many hours outdoors, where he was usually wrenching on various things. He was an avid NASCAR fan, Richard Petty being his all-time favorite driver; and collected many items through the years.
Lately, Steve has enjoyed going to Renaissance Festivals.
Most of all Steven loved his family; he was a wonderful husband, father and papa. He had a special love for his children and grandchildren, they were his #1.
Steven's love for his family was one of a kind, he impacted everyone he met and will never be forgotten.
Steven Clyde Vass, age 6,2 of Rockwood passed away at 10:06 p.m, Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor.
In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his daughter, Karly Vass.
To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved wife of 29 years, Diana Vass of Rockwood; three sons: Steven "Chad" (Ashley) Vass of Toledo, Darick (Kristina) Vass of Lewisville, Texas, and William "Bill" (Corine) Sheridan of Monroe; two sisters: Sue (Gordon ) Scheerhon and Patricia (Jimm) Brammer of Gibraltar; and brother: James Vass of Gibraltar; thirteen grandchildren: Austin, Christian, Easton, Hudson, Trentton, Steven, Nolan, Samantha, Reece, Spencer, Mason, Heather, Nathan and one on the way.
A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Fireman's Park in Newport with Pastor Dale Beal officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734)384-5185.
