Steven Zimmerman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2017.
On the morning of February 1, 2017, our husband, father, son and brother lost his battle with brain cancer.
He was born on August 14, 1957 in Roosevelt, Utah to John L. Zimmerman and Evelyn Granger.
He grew up in Moab, Utah where he loved to hike, fish and hunt with his five brothers.
He worked in the uranium mine there for several years before working for his father in the drilling industry. He left Moab and during his career in the drilling industry worked in many areas of the country, from the West Coast and Northwest, Intermountain Area, Midwest and the East Coast. He worked in the water well industry, later doing environmental drilling. He was highly skilled as a driller, mechanic and all around handyman. He could fix or rebuild anything.
While he was on the east coast, he developed an interest in scuba diving. On the West Coast, he enjoyed road biking, he continued to enjoy these sports for some time.
He liked to cook, liked baking cakes, making ice cream and doing special dishes for the family. He was a better cook than bottle washer, however, this task usually fell on Lori.
He married Lori Poulson April 23, 2004, they have two children, Olivia and Joseph.
He is survived by his wife Lori, children Olivia and Joseph and his father John (Dutch), wife Linda, mother Evelyn, brothers and their wives, Chuck and Maryanna, Randy and Joeline, David and Terryanne, Mike and Karen, Todd and Corrine, stepbrother, Tom and Jessica, stepsister Mari Beth and Brandon, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:00a.m., with a visitation one hour prior from 10:00am to 11:00am. The visitation and service will be at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive.

I did not get a chance to really get to know Steven, but the brief time we had up at the Holden Mine job I knew him to be a professional man and family man. My heart goes out to the family and friends.

We are very sorry for your family's loss. Out prayers go out to you and your famlies. Steve was a joy to be around.

We worked together. When ever I had hole troubles in the field he was the one I would call. Others called him as well. His experience in the drilling field was second to none.

One of my fondest memories is when we would be staying around at work waiting on one of our bosses to come out and talk to us about the next job. Steve would tell one of his jokes. The joke would be so korny that it would have been hard to laugh at except for the fact that he would be laughing so hard at his joke you could not help but laugh. Just a pleasure to be around.
I going to miss my very dear friend.
