Stjepan "Steve" MIHALIC

Mihalic, Stjepan ""Steve"" – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, and best friend. After enduring a battle with cancer, Steve passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2021 in his 80th year. Cherished husband of 42 wonderful years to Katica ""Kathy"". Predeceased by wife Marija in 1977. He will be dearly missed by his sons Joe (Katica) and Damir (Robena), and grandchildren Caval and Lendrick. Deeply loved and missed in Croatia by his brother Dragutin (Katica), and nephews Stjepan (Ružica) and Rajko (Albina) and families, and in-laws Bencetic. He will always be lovingly remembered by in-laws Topolovec and Baynton, cousins Stanley and Zeljko Pokupec and their families, as well as friends, neighbours, and extended family in Canada, USA, and Croatia. Steve enjoyed bowling, watching bicycle & auto racing, and spending time with family and friends. He was devoted to his family and had a good-hearted sense of humour. He will forever live on in the memories and stories of those that he touched. His family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hotte, Dr. Clarke, nurse Joseph and all the VON palliative care team, as well as family and friends that helped us during this difficult time. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private service will be held with interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Cancer Assistance Program.
