Our sympathies go out to the Merrick family. I'm sure Preston is in that great bluegrass band in heaven and his suffering has ended. We wish you all the wonderful memories that he left with all of you. Our hearts are with you at this time.

Tribute to a man

I never spent a moment with you.
But I know your son.

He is loyal
And kind
And determined
And clever

He loves nature
And family
And music
And sport

You have bequeathed these to him. I can imagine no better inheritance.

Dear Jordan and family:
I was saddened to hear of your father's passing. Even thought I did not know him, as I read the obituary, I could see so much of him in you. I know that he was proud. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Mary Coburn

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO MRS. BETTY MERRICK, TREY AND JORDAN

When you lose someone you love it is only natural to go through a season of sadness. But this too shall pass away. Consider the treasure of memories that you and your beloved Preston created together. Your father's departure may urge your heart to moan, but remember, this was his short-term home and he was only here as a loan. Preston has found the ultimate peace that surpasses all understanding. His battle has been fought and his race has been won; shield and sword removed, he’s set sail for a better place.
When you abandon your sorrow, think then rejoice. It is hard, I know, but endeavor to peacefully carry on. When we put to rest those we love, we can rejoice that they suffer no more. Seek comfort in God who will hold you, trust in God who will guide you and know that God will sustain you especially at this time if you trust Him. Your Father is simply a soldier...gone. ALL IS WELL!

Deepest condolences to the Merrick family. While we did not know Preston except through his son, Jordan, we feel we have come to know a part of him by knowing and working with Jordan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Merrick family...and our deepest sympathy in the loss of Preston.
