I was deeply sorrowful to hear of dear Sue's passing...she was a dear friend and companion back in the day..we met at Depauw University in 1973...and became fast friends...Sue was a sensitive, mischievious soul...a great spirit and a beautiful and promising young woman...I loved her...we parted ways in 1975..as we graduated from college and went on our different paths and ways...but she was always a part of that life...she was loved and cherished...

We were so sorry to hear of Susie’s passing. We are hoping that the family will take comfort in each other and in the memories you all share.
I would like to share a memory from a little more than 30 years ago. Susie lived not far from us when we were in Irvington. I needed a babysitter, and she was available. When I returned home, everyone was sleeping soundly and the toys were in perfect order as were the outfits they were wearing when i had left. It all seemed to be done with such love and care. I remember feeling that specific sense of love. I no it is a tiny action, but it speaks to her thoughtfulness. She helped us out several times in those days. I have finds memories of that time.

I am very saddened by the news of Susie’s passing. I so indelibly recall when I met her for the first time after moving to Crawfordsville at the start of my junior year in 1969. It was late summer & school had not yet started when Sam Smith was helping me get me off to an early start by introducing me to his friends. Susie’s infectious laughter and happy smile were special. The photo in her obituary captures my memory of this perfectly. I knew moving to Crawfordsville was going to be OK.

Laura: I am so sorry for your loss - you are in my continued thoughts and prayers! Your Mamma was a very special lady to our entire bible-study group and we loved her dearly. I believe you were her greatest treasure because when she spoke of you, her spirit came to life and her smile would light up the room. I went to school with Susie at Crawfordsville, I was very shy especially around girls and she was always so nice to me. I will always remember her for that.

Dear Mary, Jeanne, Sam and Robert,
I was shocked and saddened to hear about Susie’s death and send my sincere condolences to you all. I had not seen Susie for years, perhaps not since your mom’s funeral when 3 of us were pregnant and Mary had recently given birth. I have such fun memories of Susie at school and church, particularly in 7th grade when we were officially best friends. The Millis house was always a fun place to be! My heart goes out to you all and her daughter and grandchild.

Susie was my step-sister and roommate for 1-1/2 years. Life with her was zany and unpredictable, all with good humor and fun in mind. She helped me through a rough patch in my life, and she did it freely without asking questions. I know that Laura was a very important addition to her life, and she was very proud of her daughter. My heart-felt condolences to her family and loved ones. Anne
