Sula Mae Bare BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Sula Mae Bare, age 94, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at the Cambridge House, Bristol Tennessee, following an extended illness. A native of Sullivan County, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Charles D. Massengill and Mollie Smith Massengill. She was a member of Avoca Christian Church and last attended Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethern. She was a retired employee of the Sullivan County School System where she worked as a cafeteria worker. Sula enjoyed quilting, gardening and working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O'Dell Bare; a daughter, Dorothy Tate; one sister, Mary Caldwell; one brother, Fred Massengill; and an infant sister. Sula is survived by two daughters, Lorene Bishop and husband, W.C. of Bristol Tennessee, and Ella Mae Farmer and husband, James of Blountville, Tenn.; one brother, Paul Massengill and wife Novella of Bluff City, Tenn.; a son-in-law, Sam Tate of Bristol Tennessee; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Bare will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Tetrick Funeral Home Bluff City Chapel with Mr. Bob Robinson and Brother Dan Case officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home or other times at the homes of her daughters, Lorene Bishop, 116 Santa Fe Drive, Bristol, TN; or Ella Mae Farmer, 256 Oak St., Blountville, TN. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, in Morning View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Bishop, Gary Bishop, Donnie Farmer, Lance Tate, Shawn Goodman, Adam Bishop, David Minnick, Brett Morton and Aaron Bishop. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Goodman, Tim Morton and Tim Massengill. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers at Cambridge House for the loving and devoted care given to Mrs. Bare during her illness. Lorene, I am sorry for your loss. Sula was a very special lady.I enjoyed taking care of her at the nursing home. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. She could always make me laugh even when my day wasnt going so great. I loved her dearly.I will miss her ,but never Forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
