Susan Bonner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 23, 2021.

Susan Mary Bonner passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the age of 68 years old. She was called home to her Heavenly Father while surrounded by her loving children.

She was born on June 26, 1952 in Los Angeles, California to parents Clifford George Smith and Patricia Grant Smith. While growing up in Granada Hills, she found her love for singing, a talent she would continue to bless those around her with throughout her life. One of her favorite ways to share her gift was to sing the hymns of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ during church meetings.

Susan married Michael James Bonner on July 20, 1973 and through this marriage would give birth to her four children. Her role as a mother was her greatest joy on this earth and the love she gave her children their biggest blessing.

Susan struggled with poor health her entire life. Yet despite her struggles, she had perfect faith in her Heavenly Father’s plan for her, and her gratitude for life never wavered. Her faith not only sustained her through her trials, it also compelled her to live a life of love and service. Susan was a “member missionary” her entire life, and she loved to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone she came in contact with.

She is survived by three of her children, Isabella Lynn DeMaggio of Columbus, Georgia, Jeffrey Michael Bonner of South Jordan, Utah, and Jeri Michelle Johnson of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua James Bonner. She is also survived by her children-in-law, Stacie Bonner, whom lovingly cared for her for many years, Gabriel DeMaggio, as well as her eight beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Brynnlee, Lauren, Christian, Ethan, Ryan, Sara, and Aaron.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Juniper Bend Stake Center, 14868 W. Juniper Crest Rd. Herriman, UT. Interment will be at the Herriman City Cemetery.
