Obituary

Shirley A. (Fladager) Mikelson, 77 of Bella Vista, Arkansas died on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County, Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born on March 17, 1928 in Peerless, Montana to Loren Fladager & Clara (Bade) Fladager. She graduated high school from Augustana Academy in Canton, South Dakota, and attended and graduated from St. Olaf College. She taught school for 5 years in Sheyenne, Maddock and Grand Forks all of North Dakota. She was a member of P.E.O., former hospice volunteer, church choir director and girl scout leader. In Grand Forks, North Dakota she was a charter member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. She and her husband moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1993. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church, and a Stephen Minister. Her loving spirit, energy, vivaciousness, laughter, smile and joyful outlook will be deeply missed and remembered by those who knew her. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Granddaughter, Kari Hanson and two brothers, Armand Fladager , Waldo Fladager. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul M. Mikelson of Bella Vista, AR; son, Tom Mikelson & his wife Pam of Thompson, North Dakota; daughter, Mary Hanson & her husband Greg of Bloomington, Minnesota; two sisters, Lois Irwin of Mercer Island, Washington, Cleo Lund Bozeman, Montana; five grandchildren, Jake Mikelson, Kirsten Gensrich, Megan Mikelson, Emily Hanson, Anders Hanson; and one great grandchild, Kora Grace Gensrich. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., in the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, with Pastor Fred Nelson & Mr. Fred Schaap officiating. Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR.
