Susan Butler Obituary
1947-2005
EAST LONGMEADOW - Susan M. (Beattie) Butler went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday December 5th, 2005. She was born in Somerville, MA, to the late Richard and Muriel (Raymond) Beattie, and has resided in East Longmeadow for the last 25 years. She attended Salem State College and was on the deans list all four years, graduating Cum Laud. Susan has been a faithful and active member at the First Baptist Church of East Longmeadow for 22 years, and taught at the Church's Baptist Village Academy for the past 17 years. She loved to teach and serve the Lord. Susan shared her faith in the Lord, knowledge and passion with hundreds of students and her dedication has affected countless lives. She was the beloved spouse of Victor J. Butler for 36 years. A devoted Mother to son Mark S. Butler of North Carolina , son Gary R. Butler and daughter Sue Ellen J. Butler both of East Longmeadow. A loving Grandmother to Troy, Gavin, Gillian, and Gena Butler. Susan also leaves 3 brothers Richard Beattie of Georgia, Donald Beattie and David Beattie both of Rhode Island. Susan will forever be loved and missed by all. Friends may call Thursday, December 8th from 5-8pm at Byron Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St., Spfld. The funeral Service will be Friday December 9th at 11am at First Baptist Church of East Longmeadow, 50 Parker Street. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baptist Village Academy, 50 Parker Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028, or the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Spfld., MA 01104. www.byronsfunerals.com

I have been friends with Susan since 7th grade. Even though distance has separated us, we have always remained in touch with one another. Now the distance is greater, but she will always be in my heart and mind. I will miss her dearly. My love to Vic and his family.

Mrs. Butler was my 7th and 8th grade teacher back in 1989-1991. I learned so many wonderful things from her. We all know she is in a beautiful place. Praise God for that! Peace be to her entire family and everyone whose life was touched by her.

Today Sue is in glory with our Lord!! Praise Him!!!! Our prayers are with you, Vic, Sue Ellen, Mark and Gary as well as the rest of Sue's family. We will miss her greatly as she was a wonderfully warm sister to us.
