Susan White Butler

Susan White Butler, aged 71, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on July 20, 2024. Born on May 24, 1953, in Erwin, NC, Susan was a beloved figure in her community and cherished by her family.

Susan graduated from Erwin High School and attended Barton College ( Atlantic Christian College) and received her Associate's degree from Wake Technical Community College. She went on to have a meaningful career, retiring from SAS Institute and having previously worked at Progress Energy (CP&L). Her professional life was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, which was admired by her colleagues.

She was a devout member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she participated actively and found much solace and community.

Susan was a caring, thoughtful, and loving mother and grandmother. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she adored spending time with her grandchildren. Known for her compassionate nature, she left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She is survived by her two children, Kim Butler of Cornelius and Chris Butler (Kiersten) of Mebane; grandchildren Holden and Hunter Taormina of Cornelius and Cody and Cora Butler of Mebane; and many nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Butler; her father, Henry White; her mother, Annie Ruth White; and her brother, Phillip White.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 7100 Holly Springs Rd. Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM.
