Susan Casey

Susan Casey, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on June 21, 1960, in the Bronx, NY, Susan was a bright and loving soul whose memory will be forever cherished by all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Georgetown University, Susan made Washington, DC her lifelong home. Susan was a gifted and highly respected litigation paralegal in the Washington, DC office of Davis, Wright and Tremaine LLP. Susan was incredibly skilled, methodical and unwavering in her commitment to work and operated on a different level of efficiency and understanding of the law.

Susan is survived by her loving parents, Patrick and Eileen Casey of Pearl River, NY; her siblings, Terence Casey (Trish) and Brian Casey (Ellen); her nieces, Lauren Reed (Michael) and Caroline Casey; her nephews, Michael Casey (Vicky) and Jack Casey (Alyssa); her great-nephew, Miles Reed; and her aunts and uncles, Pauline and Michael Mason, Mary and Brendan Kelleher, and Joan O'Sullivan. She is also survived by extended family in both Ireland and the US, as well as many dear friends.

Family meant everything to Susan. "Aunt Sue" adored her nieces and nephews and took great pride in her Irish heritage. Her love of Irish music and frequent travels to Ireland to visit family brought her immense joy. She found delight in dancing at ceilis, attending the theatre and singing Amazing Grace to anyone who would listen. Known for her sharp mind, incredible ability to retell a story, and wonderful sense of humor, Susan will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Burial will be private. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Susan often reflected fondly on her time as senior editor of the Albertus Magnus High School yearbook, a role she held with great pride.
