Susan L. Cerbone died on April 6, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born Susan Walsh on June 15,1948 in Tarrytown. She was the only daughter of Edward and Mary Walsh. She attended Tarrytown schools. Susan received a Bachelor of Arts from Transylvania College, Lexington, KY in 1970 and in 1973 she received the degree of Master of Science in Education from Iona College in New Rochelle. She was a teacher in both Tarrytown and Irvington school systems. She married her husband Robert on June 27, 1971 at the U.S. Naval Chapel in St. Albans, NY. The family settled in Irvington in 1971. She was the matriarch of the extended Cerbone family hosting festive gatherings for the holidays. Susan was naturally creative person and enjoyed creating crafts as gifts to family and friends. She was a preparer of comfort foods for her many friends and family. She was a giver of care for both old and young. She is survived by her husband Robert and daughter Tina of Irvington, and son Paul Cerbone of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was also survived by a multitude of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Edward, mother, Mary, and brothers Edward Jr. of Tarrytown and Michael of Louisville, KY. Visitation will be at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be at Transfiguration Church on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
