Darlene Dreyer, 76, passed away on November 2, 2023, in Opelika, Alabama surrounded by love. She was born on May 20, 1947, in Alexander City, Alabama, to the late Marcus and Luvelia Blanks.

Darlene, also known as Susan Dreyer and Nana D to her grandchildren was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her daughter, Kristy (Randy) Pulsifer; sons, Billy Coker and Kenneth (Wanda) Coker; and her cherished chihuahua, Angel(ina). Darlene's grandchildren include Breque (Jeremy) Ward, Brooke (Cory) Rubio, BJ Coker, Joey (Madison) Coker, Steffiny (Jason) McConnell, Mark (Elizabeth) Coker, Hunter (Kristin) Coker, Tiffanie Coker, Lindsay (Logan) Gregory, bonus grandchildren Kimberly (Mike) Merfy, Danielle Sellers, Kayla Melton, Lizzy Pulsifer, AP (Sonja) Pulsifer, Jessica (Adam) Mills, Kellye Nelson, Rachelle Fawley, Lelia Pulsifer, and a host of great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard (Yank) Dreyer, her brother's Marcus Blanks Jr. (Mickey) and Samuel, a sister Gayla and her parents, Marcus and Luvelia Blanks. She is survived by her sister, Betty Faye Byrnes, and brother's Joel (Janet) Blanks and James Blanks.
A special thank you to her dedicated and loved hospice team Shanna and Heather.

A graveside memorial and service for Darlene's life will be held at 11 am on November 4, 2023, at Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika, Alabama with the family gathering in unity at 242 Lee Road 420 in Opelika afterwards. The Frederick-Dean Funeral Home in Opelika is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Darlene will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her candid, unyieldingly independent but loving nature, and the joy she brought to those around her.
