SUSAN GALLAGHER Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 17 to Jan. 18, 2023.
GALLAGHER, Susan C. Passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023, in her South End home, surrounded by family and friends. Susan was born in Philadelphia on December 29, 1944 to William A. Gallagher, Sr., and Josephine M. (Cunningham) Gallagher. A graduate of Villanova University and Lake Forest College, where she received her MS and MBA, Susan was a pioneering professional who worked to create opportunities for others. By age 26, she was working at General Electric completing complex calculations on a mainframe computer. In 1969, she co-founded Project Management Institute, a non-profit international professional society. Of Susan's many accomplishments, the one she was most proud of was her son, Sean. She loved seeing Sean graduate from Tufts University School of Medicine and become an Anesthesiologist at Tufts Medical Center. One of her happiest moments was dancing with Sean at his wedding. Susan is survived by her son, Sean and his wife, Erin Bruynell Gallagher, of Boston; her sisters, Barbara "Barb" Eastburn, of Sharon Hill, PA, and Virginia "Ginny" Morrow, of Prospect Park, PA; her brother, William "Bill" Gallagher, Jr. of Seaford, DE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be on January 20, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial Street, BOSTON. Complimentary valet parking attendants at front door. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington Street, Boston, on January 21, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury. Flowers may be sent to J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, and donations may be sent to Bridging.org and Humanesociety.org.
