Susan "SuSu" Avant Hendrick, age 65, of Adeline Court died Sunday, January 22, 2017.
Susan was born in Conway, a daughter of Sylvia Thompson Avant and the late William D. Avant, Jr. She attended The Rock and loved spending time with her family. She also had cherished memories of the many children she cared for.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Conway are: son Phillip L. "Le" Hendrick, Jr. and wife Heather of Conway; grandson, Phillip L. "Joey" Hendrick, III of Jacksonville, NC; brother, William D. "Bill" Avant, III of Central, SC; niece, Elinor "Ellie" Avant and nephew, William D. "Will" Avant, IV.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with Pastor Josh Finklea and Rev. Joyce Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday.
Memorial may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

My mother just told me of Susan's passing and I am at a loss for words. It seems like she just called me to remind me of my cleaning. She always knew how much I hated the dentist but, always made me feel comfortable. I am going to miss her!

My prayers and thoughts are with all of Susan's family and friends. She touched so many lives at the dentist office, always had a smile on her face and kind words, made me laugh even at the dentist office! She will be missed but remembered fondly.
