Susan Klebanow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2025.
Las Vegas - Susan Marie (Lacko) Klebanow of Las Vegas, NV passed away on September 14, 2025, after battling an illness for the past year. She was 67 years old. She was born and lived in Lansing, NY before moving to Las Vegas in 1991.

Susan graduated from Lansing High School in 1976 and attended the Rochester Business Institute. She worked as an administrative assistant at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration for over 10 years and later worked at the Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Sue is survived by her husband, Andrew M. Klebanow and her sisters, Debbie Lacko of Dryden, NY, and Merle Sweet Larracey of Dover, NH, as well as numerous cousins. Over many years, Sue enjoyed attending Werner Family Reunions whenever she could. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert M. and Dorothy (Werner) Lacko.

Sue enjoyed traveling with Andrew to many parts of the world, including England, France, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macau. Additionally, she had many fond memories of traveling with her sisters throughout New Hampshire, Maine, Arizona, and California. She was a gardener and nature-lover and found much pleasure in watching the many hummingbirds that came to her feeders. She loved dogs and cats equally, but was partial to orange cats and golden retrievers.

Susan enjoyed entertaining in her home with Andrew. She was a wonderful hostess, always decorating the house for every holiday. She will be greatly missed.

If you wish, please feel free to make a donation in Sue's memory to the American Cancer Society, your local hospice, or to a charity of your choice.

A memorial event in the Lansing/Ithaca area will be held in the Spring of 2026 at a date yet to be determined.

For the one time we visited you in Las Vegas, it was truly a wonderful experience. Our memories with you are so very sweet. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly into your beautiful home. I believe it was kept with such grace and care because of your wife´s love. You will always remain in my memory.

The greatest happiness for every woman and wife is to be cared for by her husband. You were that woman. Please know that you will be remembered with love and will forever remain cherished.

With love and remembrance,
Victor & Wan from NYC

I want to thank God for your life, you were a great example to follow. Hard working , dedicated, animal lover (just like me). That spoke a lot about the person you were. I will always remember you, your husband. Even though I am far I will always carry you with me. I love you always and forever SUE.

I had the lovely privilege of assisting Susan (and Andrew) with hospice care in the final stages of Susan´s life. Her and Andrew´s home always filled with much love each time I visited. Although it was brief, I am grateful for the privilege of spending time with them and experiencing the warm spirit they created. May Susan be at peace and free from pain and suffering. Sending my love and support to Andrew, her family and friends.
