Susan Beth Kohler

Susan Beth Kohler Columbia - Susan Beth Kohler, age 64, of Columbia, MO, passed away on March 11, 2023, following a series of strokes. At Susan's request, a celebration of her life will be held at Heart, Body, & Soul, located at 1004 W. Worley Street in Columbia, Missouri on Sunday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Susan was born on September 25, 1958, the daughter of Charles A. Kohler, DDS and Anne M. Bisignano Kohler, a nurse, who met during WWII when both were in the military. Susan was their only child. Susan lived most of her life in Columbia. She attended Russell Elementary, West Junior High, and Hickman High School where she was active in band, pep club, and yearbook. She graduated from high school in 1977 and went on to attend Washington University in St. Louis. There she was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, through which many fond memories and lifelong friendships were created. After a year at Washington University's School of Law, Susan decided to shift gears and instead obtained her Master's degree from Washington University's George Warren Brown School of Social Work. She practiced in that field in St. Louis for a number of years, before returning to Columbia to help her aging parents, both of whom preceded her in death.

Susan was a lover of animals and competed in a number of cat shows throughout her life, winning several awards. She was a generous contributor to charity, an avid collector, a tennis fan, appreciator of music, and passionate follower of both the Kansas City Chiefs and politics. She is survived by - and will be missed by - the many friends she held dear across the country.
