Susan Robinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 9, 2025.
Susan Lynn Robinson, age 65, of Belmont, Maine, passed away at home on July 26, 2025. Susan was born on October 14, 1959, in Camden, Maine, and raised in Napa, California. In early adulthood, she returned to Maine, where she met the love of her life, David Robinson. The two were married on August 17, 1980, and together built a life in midcoast Maine, where they grew a family.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, Susan had a gift to make others feel seen and heard. She lived simply, gave freely, and was deeply empathetic - always willing to listen, offer a kind word, or lend a helping hand when she could. She made friends easily, forming lasting connections on both the East and West Coasts. She was deeply loyal to those she loved, a wonderful friend, and always knew how to have a good time.

Susan worked in the service industry and genuinely enjoyed meeting new people, making them comfortable, smile and laugh. Her warm, engaging personality left a lasting impression on those she crossed paths with.

Over the years, she explored many artistic hobbies and always found new ways to express her creativity, and she especially loved creating thoughtful items to give away - little gifts crafted just to make someone feel special. Her creativity, generosity, and thoughtfulness touched many lives. She also loved hosting gatherings, spending quality time with family, swimming, and dancing whenever the opportunity arose. The ocean was her happy place, and she found peace and joy in its presence.

Susan appreciated the natural beauty of gemstones and believed in their energy and meaning. She was a spiritual person and a true free spirit - guided by intuition, compassion, and a deep connection to the world around her. A lifelong animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for them.

She helped raise her grandsons, who were her pride and joy. The bond she shared with them was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She loved dressing up for Halloween for them, baking cookies, crafting, collecting rocks, gardening, and snuggling - simple joys that created lasting moments and deepened their connection.

She is survived by her husband, David Robinson; daughter, Megan Ryan and her husband, Bob Ryan; grandsons, Caleb and Benjamin Ryan; daughter, Jamie Wilson and her husband, Fred Wilson; grandson, Barrett Wilson; granddaughter, Ayla Wilson; and her beloved cats, Louie, Luna, and Libby. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sharon Simmons and Laurie Giusto; nieces, Sarah Simmons and Melissa Berube; great-niece and great-nephew; several cousins; and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ronald and Valerie Giusto; grandparents, Robert and Phoebe Moody and John and Helen Giusto; and several aunts, uncles, friends and pets.

To honor Susan's memory you're invited to make something homemade to brighten someone else's day - just as she so often did - or by making a donation to a local animal shelter.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Your Mother was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many including mine. I remember her mostly in her teenage years, being her younger cousin I looked up to her. May you find strength and solace in the memories you shared together. The love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Cousin Mary-Jo
