Susie Umphenour Obituary

Susie Irene Umphenour, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Moses Cone Hospital.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel, Greensboro, N.C.
Susie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was a Sunday school teacher, church pianist, director of Women's Ministries in Nebraska and social organizer for all events in the Assemblies of God churches she and her husband pastored throughout Nebraska, Idaho and California.
Susie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Russell Valentine Umphenour Sr. of Greensboro, N.C.; and sons, Russ Umphenour Jr. of Atlanta and Paul Umphenour of Greensboro, N.C.
Susie will be missed by her five grandchildren, Rusty, Jami, Jason, Michael and Brian; and her two great-grandchildren, Ariel and Autumn.
Susie is survived by her sisters, Mary Rice of Hayward and Gladys Matagne of Kooskia, Idaho; and brother, John Stock of Drumwright, Okla.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Harry James Umphenour and Dwight Star Umphenour.
She took up painting late in life and loved her dog, Gizmo.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Demaray Funeral Home in Gooding, Idaho. The burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
