Albert Tomasino Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 17, 2016.
Albert Joseph "Al" Tomasino Jr., 67, of Delmont, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 14, 2016, surrounded by his wife, Karen, and their daughters. He was born Oct. 8, 1948, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Albert Joseph Tomasino Sr. and Bernice O'Malley Tomasino. Al is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Karen Cook Tomasino; two children, Jennifer Novich, of Harwick, Jeffrey Tomasino, of Penn Hills; and two stepchildren that he considered his own, Carrie Ann (Dominic) Matarazzo, of Murrysville, and Kelly (Randy) Hyland, of Murrysville. Albert was the faithful brother of his sisters, Helen (Ron) Buckley and Toni (Skip) Vesce. Al was the beloved grandfather of nine grandchildren, Zachary Novich, Tyler, Andrew and Kayla Tomasino, Dominic and Alysha Matarazzo and Brooke, Joshua and Paige Hyland; and great-grandfather of Jaxon. Al was an independent contractor and builder who over the past 40 years had designed and installed kitchens and bathrooms throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. In those years, he also worked with Backus Cabinets and Irwin Builders. Al loved camping and boating with his friends and family. He enjoyed playing cards with his family during Sunday dinners. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Pirates. He loved to bowl and enjoyed dinners out and margaritas on Tuesday nights with friends. He loved to garden and enjoyed his backyard retreat, which was complete with a waterfall and a stocked fish pond. Two turtle doves, named A and B after his parents, have graced the garden since it's inception. Al loved being with his family and neighbors, but especially loved spending time with his wife, Karen, whom he adored. Al was a long time member of the Holiday Park United Methodist Church in Plum where he and his wife, Karen, loved to cook and serve.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016, at the HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Holiday Park United Methodist Church with Pastor Tony Fallisi and Rev. Dawn Lynn Check officiating. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment will follow in the Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Borough.
If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com.

Dear Tomasino Family,

My heart goes out to all of you upon the passing of Al. I had only met him maybe 3 weeks ago as he started doing outdoor work @my home. When Dom called to say he had been in a tragic accident, my heart just fell.

Even though knowing Al for a short time, i found him to be a very kind and caring person. May his soul soar and receive never ending love!
Greatest Condolences to All of You,
Donna

Dear family of Al, I oftentimes got to help Al at the bank when he would come by. He was a gentleman always and the kindest and most patient person as he waited his turn. I am so sad to hear of your loss of this sweet, sweet man. No tears past the gate! Paula, bank teller from your bank.
