Suzanne Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 21 to Jun. 26, 2016.
Suzanne Diack Wright, a friend to everyone she met, passed away at her Fort Lauderdale home Saturday, June 18, with James N. Wright, her husband of 53 years, by her side. Born April 7, 1943 to the late Thomas F. and Marybelle Diack in New Rochelle, NY, Suzanne moved with her parents to Fort Lauderdale in 1949. She attended Eastside School, Sunrise Middle and graduated from the original Fort Lauderdale High School in 1961, where she was a cheerleader and voted Friendliest by her high school peers. She went on to attend the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Suzanne's outgoing personality was a perfect fit for her highly successful career in real estate. She was a member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Board of Realtors for 33 years. When she wasn't working, her greatest passion was spending time with her adored grandchildren, James N. Wright III and Carlie Wright of Fort Lauderdale and Madison and MacKenzie Bracken of Vero Beach. She loved dancing, boating and parlor games. Remembered by everyone for her everpresent smile that could light up a room, Suzanne had just enjoyed celebrating her 55th high school reunion in May. In addition to her husband James and her four grandchildren, Suzanne is survived by her son James N. (Gail) Wright, II of Fort Lauderdale, her daughter, Karin Wright Bracken of Vero Beach and dear friend, Terri Wright of Fort Lauderdale. Services are scheduled for June 30, 4 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, 401 SE 15th Ave. www.fredhunters.com.

Jim,
I am so sorry to hear about Susan. I just found out last night. What great friends we were since Eastside and Lauderdale High. Then off to college together and pledging theta together. How much fun we had on all our ski trips.
Trying to call you.

I was in shock when I heard the news. Sue was such a special person and role model. I have such good memories from childhood trips with the Wright Family. Sue will be missed but not forgotten. We will always remember her bright smile and her compassion for life and others. May she rest in peace.

Jim, Karen and Jimmy, I cannot imagine what you must be feeling. What a wonderful woman, wife, grandmother and friend Sue was. My heart goes out to you and yours.

Sue, Diack, like knack, only with a "D" was my first introduction to this incredible woman at UGA. Suzanne extended the hand of friendship and the love of a Theta sister to me. She exemplified patience and grace in all things she did. The world was a better place because of her. Prayers and love to her family, Jim, Karin and Jimbo and her beloved grandchildren.

As a fellow Realtor with Suzanne here in Fort Lauderdale, our real estate community is in shock and deeply saddened to hear of Suzanne's passing. Everyone who ever met her; everyone who ever worked with her in the real estate field will remember her grace, her ever-present smiling face, and her warm welcomes. Suzanne was a class act, a professional Realtor always at the top of her game; and a kind person who remembered and acknowledged everyone with a very warm greeting.

Her charm, grace and elegance was well known, but to those of us in the real estate business we appreciated her true professionalism. We should all be that good! She will remain a shining example to the rest of us.

One of our mutual friends (also in the real estate business) summed her thoughts with this, It's hard to put in to words everything she was...she seemed to embody all we want to be...kind, patient, cheerful, and as Realtors - professional. I loved her. We all loved her. Rest in Peace, Dear Suzanne.

We send our deepest condolences and sympathies to her husband, Jim, and her family. A sad loss to them; a great loss to our community.

She will be so missed!

I am devastated to learn of Sue's passing, especially after just chatting with her at our class reunion in May. We were classmates since Sunrise Jr. High and although we saw each other only every 5 years at reunions, she always greeted me with that infectious smile that lit up the room.

My heart goes out to family in your time of sorrow. May God bless you all.
