Dear Shirley,
I am severely saddened to hear of Syd's passing. My memories are of his quick and genuine smile, his interest in his friends and their families and his loyalty to relationships and to the institutions of which he was a member.
Judy and I send our sincere sympathies on your loss. We are in Florida now and are sorry that we were unable to attend the funeral.

Shirley,
Seymour and my hearts go out to you on the loss of your father. We spent hours with Syd at Woodbine and just sit and chat during the races. Once in awhile Syd would pick a longshot to win and we'd all celebrate with a dinner at Kaplansky's. He had a wicked sense of humor yet always was compassionate for those less fortunate. May his soul rest in peace. Miriam.

Shirley,
Our condolences to you on the loss of Syd. Morris and I have fond memories of the trips up to the Laurentians. You and I would wait in the cottage while Morris and Syd went out and tried to catch some fish for dinner. It's a good thing that we brought food with us .Please pass on my sympathies to Barney and his family.
Sincerely, Rivkah and Morris

Shirley,
My condolences on the loss of Syd. We watched a lot of Hockey Night in Canada together; I would cheer for the Canadiens and Syd would always cheer for the Red Wings. We would argue but always end up raising a glass of schnapps at the end of the night. I'll always have fond memories of him.

Shirley,
Syd and I go back many years. I bought my first card from Syd, and also bought my first home from his company. Syd and I would share a bottle of schnapps together and reflect about our times in the service.I would fall asleep before him and he's o\put theblankets on me. He was a great man, a great story teller and I will miss him terribly.
