I worked with Sid for 17 years in Aircraft Targets at Point Mugu. He was a real nice guy and always a gentleman to all. I really liked him as did most I think. He liked to laugh and kid with everyone and was popular with all. I suspect he was a good Father and Husband. He was sure well liked around targets. I will miss him. May he Rest in Peace. I'll miss my good ol'e buddy Sydo,he was a great father in-law to me and a great grandfather to my two boys, Kyle and Ryan. They loved listening to his old war stories and wisdom. I enjoyed my time with him while on vacation in Hawaii and Mexico, his famous words were "Hey Ken how bout a Mai tai". He was always there for us if we ever needed anything, I love Syd, he will always be in my heart. Love always, ken

I have many fond memories, Dad, including my first bowling game, my first celebratory drink, and some years later, my first (and last!) miserable hangover. Our times together were not quantity, but quality. We shared graduations, weddings and memorials. I could always count on you to brighten occasions and save a dance for me. You will always be loved and missed. God bless you and forever keep you in his care. Love you always, Deanna

Syd became a part of my familys life when I was around 14. My two sisters and myself were raised up by my Mom and Syd after my Father became ill. He supported us in finding our own paths in this life and was a great inspiration in the man that I am today. I will always remember Syd as a very patient man. He was very supportive in our growing pains especially during our teenage years. Syd was a man of simple values. If you were willing to make an effort he was always willing to help you acheive your goal.
Syd was a very good husband to my Mom they were great partners in life. Enjoying traveling , bowling, entertaining, and most of all dancing. His service to the Navy was a great example of our countrys american hertiage.I am a proud stepson and I was blessed to have two father figures in my life I'll miss you. Thank-you for all the great memories. God Speed, Patrick Finucane

I met Syd 9 years ago when I started dating Patrick. I was invited over for dinner for my birthday Syd and Myrna cooked dinner and then Syd broke out the family photo albums. I really took a liking to him after all, he always had a can of nuts and we would always fight over the cashews, Syd made the Best Bloodie Marys and he took joy in fixing you one , he made great screw drivers too and I don't even like those but you couldn't pass one of those up. Syd was such a kind man always making sure his wife Myrna was well taken care of, cleaning , washing making her breakfast , from cutting up fruit to chopping up the salad even cleaning up afterwards, he did spoil her. And took great joy in doing it. She just learned how to make the bed Ha ha! I will truly miss Syd my father in-law it certainly won't be the same eating cashews without you, so I guess I will have to fight over Potateo chips with Myrna.

Thank-you Syd for welcoming me into the family. May you dance on the clouds in heaven with a silver bullet in one hand and a can of mixed nuts in the other.
God Bless , Marie Finucane

Sydney was a great stepfather and will be greatly missed. He always had a smile on his face and was full of life, he loved bowling and was a joy to watch, he was the only person I saw get a turkey more than once. He always knew how to have fun, either on vacation in Hawaii or Mexico or cutting it up on the dance floor. He has left me with many great memories I will cherish forever, Love Always Brenda.
