Syed Abid Raza Bilgrami

BILGRAMI, Syed Abid Raza. Son of the late Syed Ali Raza Bilgrami of Hyderabad (Deccan), educated at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and called to the Bar by Lincoln's Inn, London, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2004 at the age of eighty-four, in Montreal, Canada. Very loving and extremely devoted husband of Iffat Ara (daughter of the late Sir Fazl Ali, one time Governor of both Orissa and Assam Provinces in India) and father of Syed Fazl Ali Bilgrami, M.B.B.S., Plainville, CT, USA (Sofia) and Riffat of Montreal, Canada (Abid Salman). A loving person, generous at heart, having a barrel full of humorous stories with an abundance of humility and always a perfect gentleman, he will be sadly missed by his adoring wife, son, daughter, nephews and grandchildren, Zahid Salman FSA, FCIA, Inji (Salman) Irshad CA, both of Toronto and Mahnoor of Plainville, and his great-grandchildren. Sanya Mariam, Zara Yasmeen, Zain Aamir and Tarik Ali, and the many relatives and friends in Pakistan, Canada and elsewhere. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to a charity of choice would be appropriate. "Those whom we touch in life, will always remain enriched."
