Sylvain Lacroix Obituary

Sylvain G. Lacroix, 57, died Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was the husband of Karen L. Lacroix to whom he was married 32 years in 2017. Born November 30, 1960, he was the son of the late Claude and Victoire (Carigan) Lacroix. Sylvain retired in 2015 from UPS after 30 years of service where he had been a Director of Computer Services. He was an avid golfer and member of Bon Air Country Club. Sylvain enjoyed all sports, the Ravens and Penn State and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle N. Lacroix of Baltimore; a son, John-Claude L. Lacroix of Hoboken, NJ.; a sister, Josee Sadler and her husband, Ronnie of Powhatan, VA; his mother-in-law, Frances Fasano; two sisters-in-law, Susan Fasano and Linda Petrisko; three nieces, Stephanie and Lisa Petrisko and Kaila Sadler; and two nephews, Josh and Noah Sadler.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Friday, March 9 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. A celebration of Life Service will be held 12 noon Saturday, March 10 at the Hunt Valley Golf Course, 14101 Phoenix Rd. Phoenix, MD. Officiating will be Rick Winklemen.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave. Suite 200 Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Sorry for your loss, I have many fond memories of Sylvain. I will always remember his outgoing personality, quick wit, and telling it like it was with a funny twist added. He helped organize many outings from crazy 1 day ski trips to Vermont, group fishing trip (7 of us called in sick with his term "piscesosis" - the only known cure was going deep sea fishing), golfing and playing on the Mircognosis softball team together. He was very smart and talented in the office, it was a fun year when we shared a cubicle together in our early working days.
