Sylvia Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2022.

On May 30, 2022, Sylvia Nell Williamson Davis was ushered to her eternal home by Heavenly hosts and met by a welcoming committee of family and friends gone on before her. Now, she is completely healed and restored.

Born January 11, 1939, Nell was one of the most caring, loving, tender-hearted souls you would meet. She had an innocent way of making us laugh and feel comfortable in her presence.

She was a devoted wife of nearly 65 years, mother, sister, friend, and hard worker. She was an accountant for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry for many years.

Nell will be greatly missed. We all loved her so much!

She is survived by her husband, James E. Davis; 1 Daughter, Desiree Chamberlain; 1 Son, Perry Max Davis; 4 Sisters, Sarah Short, Maxine Pruitt, Judy Crouse, Geraldine Dean; 2 Brothers, John Williamson, Dennis Williamson; 5 Grandchildren, Adah Chamberlain, Davis Chamberlain, James Davis, Kristen Jacobs, Treva Bouquet; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Sam Jacobs, Maggie Jacobs, Norah Jacobs

She is preceded by her parents, Max and Lula Williamson; Brother, David Williamson.

Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Wednesday and from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood, LA. For an online guestbook, visit http://www.mckneelys.com.

Aunt Nell was such a wonderful, kind spirit, and someone I always loved to see and spend time with growing up. She'll be greatly missed. I'm thinking of her and sending love to Uncle Jimmy and to all of her family.

Through her son Max and his writings, we came to know a little about this precious Lady. May her tender heart, and expressions of love live on and be displayed through each of her loved ones.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I truly treasure the years we were neighbors and our children played together in the neighborhood.
I will remember Nell the way she was back then and pray she is resting in peace now. Prayers for the family.

I worked with Nell for many years at LDAF. A kinder, sweeter soul I've never known. A hard worker, always ready to lend a hand, with never an unkind word to say about anyone. Offering prayers for her family and her many, many friends and former colleagues. May she forever rest in peace.
