Sylvia McIntosh Obituary
Sylvia Anne McIntosh (née Puil) died peacefully in Richmond General Hospital in Richmond, B.C. at the age of 88.
Sylvia is survived by her husband William Murray McIntosh of Richmond, her son Mark Christopher McIntosh of Vancouver, and her brothers George Puil and Ernie Puil of Vancouver. She is preceded in death by her sister Violet, formerly of San Diego, Calif.
Sylvia was born on September 20, 1927 in Coalhurst, Alberta to George Gregory Puil and Violet Hilda Puil. She graduated from King Edward High School in Vancouver. She married William in 1957.
A funeral is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church at 1430 West 38th Ave, Vancouver, with a reception to follow at VanDusen Botanical Gardens, Peggy Gunn Woodland Hall B (5251 Oak Street) from 11 am to 2 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sylvia's life.

I met Sylvia later in her life thru my wife Linda. I would join them at chef events at Barbara Jo's Cookbooks and lunches (as she always knew the next up & coming chef to try). She had a great sense of humor and wit about her. I greatly enjoyed those times with Sylvia and very saddened by her passing. Our thoughts are with you Murray and Mark.

I worked with Sylvia at Cibc many years ago but our friendship really grew when she retired & I transferred to 3 West Centre. She would visit me weekly there. Sylvia introduced me to the Opera, Barbra Jo's Book Store & many fine Restaurants in Vancouver. I think we visited every Teahouse in the lower mainland. I will miss our conversations together & her newspaper clippings she would mail to me with recipes & information about Chefs. What a thoughtful, beautiful person with a big heart. You will be missed by many.
