Sylvia Nicholson Obituary
September 9, 1923 - September 24, 2025
Age 102, late of Queens, NY, and formerly of Hyde Park Road, Kingston 11. Passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on September 24, 2025.
Sylvia was a devoted mother of ten whose home and heart were always open, helping to raise her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless others in her community. Known for her wit, creativity, and generosity, she leaves a lasting legacy of love and faith.
She was predeceased by her daughter Beverly and son-in-law Pastor Dennis Brown and is lovingly remembered by her daughters Nellyta, Barbara, Mirth, Anthea, Simoni, and Portia; sons Beresford, Edward, and Clive; daughters-in-law Helene (née Coley) and Joan (née Walker); sons-in-law Michael Duzant, Claude Clarke, and Warren Treston; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of God, Far Rockaway, NY, with viewing immediately preceding at 12:00 p.m.

Condolences to the family. I don´t have any one particular memory but as a young person growing up at Bethel, Nicky was the warm nurturing adult to all of us. I´m sure she will be dearly missed by her family but we can all be comforted knowing she is the presence of our Lord. RIP faithful servant.
