Sylvia Reddish Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2023.
Sylvia "Chris" Reddish, 61, of Silvis, IL, passed away on August 28, 2023. Born on September 16, 1961, in Brownsville, Kentucky, Chris was a loving and compassionate individual who touched the lives of many.

Sylvia, known to her loved ones as Chris, had a heart full of love and an unwavering desire to help others. She never wanted to see anyone struggle or go without, and her caring nature was felt by everyone who knew her. Chris was particularly passionate about her family and friends, considering her sister and nephews to be her entire world. Whether it was going on family vacations or simply spending quality time together playing games, Chris cherished every moment with her loved ones. Family time was always the most important time for her.

In addition to her dedication to her family, Chris had a deep love for Nascar and Carl Edwards. Prior to her illness, she would attend every Nascar race she could, forging lifelong friendships along the way. Whether she met fellow racing enthusiasts online or at the races themselves, these connections were cherished by her.

Throughout her life, Chris held various positions, including bartender, and worked in several factories and warehouses. Most recently, she served as a manager at 7-11, where she found joy in interacting with customers and making new friends each day.

A celebration of Chris's life will be held on September 16th, 2023, at Jimbo's Knucklehead Saloon, located at 902 16th Avenue, East Moline, IL, from 12-3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to assist with expenses. Contributions can be sent via Venmo to @ChrisCancerCare.

Chris is survived by her sister, Karen Reddish, her brother, Benjamin "Sam" Reddish, as well as her three nephews and one niece: Brice, Brock, Cameron, and Olivia Reddish. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Ryan, father, Edward Reddish, sister, Vicki Cork, and brothers, James Reddish and Michael Reddish.

Chris will be remembered for her boundless love, selflessness, and dedication to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Meeting her at the gas station! She was the best lady you could ever meet and when she first started going through the cancer thing, I gave her an airbrush machine for makeup so it would help her! Everyday I tried to check on her when she was still at work and then when I found out what was going on at the end, I wanted to see her and that day she had passed away Chris you will truly be missed by so many

Chris, we met through our love of NASCAR and all things Carl Edwards. You will be missed by all your fellow "Edheads" and all those you've touched. Your family is in my heart and thoughts during this difficult time. Rest easy Chris...
