JEFFERSON - Services for T. Jerry Blackburn, 68, of Jefferson, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008, at the chapel of Haggard Funeral Home in Jefferson, with the Rev. Jim Rust and the Rev. Bill Buchanan officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery of Jefferson, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.
Mr. Blackburn was born July 13, 1940, in Jefferson, Texas, to Lola and J.D. Blackburn. He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Whom he loved and served. He departed for his heavenly home on August 26, 2008, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, after a four-and-a-half year bout with cancer.
Mr. Blackburn was a member of Hall Baptist Church and was a former owner of Blackburn Syrup Works. He was also an avid duck hunter.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Blackburn; and his son, Thomas Blackburn II.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Monika; one daughter, Denise Blackburn of Houston; two sons, Scott Clark and his wife, Teresa of Jefferson, and Daniel Blackburn of Jefferson; his mother, Lola Blackburn of Jefferson; two brothers, Jimmy Blackburn and his wife, Anne of Jefferson, and John Blackburn and his wife, Betty of Holly Lake; four loving granddaughters, Lacy Phillips, Jaden Carter, Sierra Clark and Madison Clark, all of Jefferson; five nephews; and one niece.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Goss, David Davis, Matthew Squyres, Allan Whatley, Zach Tunnell, Luke Mosley, Jacob Mosley and Jason Jones.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, August 28, 2008, at Haggard Funeral Home.

I sincerely hope that my most caring thoughts and prayers will bring strength to all the family during this time of sadness. Although we have been apart several years, Jerry will be sorely missed. He was a sweetheart! Love to all. Cousin Wanda
