Talmadge Paul (Tal) Langley.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Talmadge Paul "Tal" Langley, age 86.

Tal was a kind, loving, and compassionate soul, and passed away on Thursday, September 11th, 2025.

Born in Wilson County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Elijah Clifton Langley and Texie Leona Lewis Langley and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Clifton Langley and William Thomas "Tom" Langley.

Tal considered his colleagues and neighbors as his family members. His life, though not bound by blood to many, was rich with memories and deeply rooted relationships that shaped his legacy.

His kind, loving, and caring nature left a lasting imprint on anyone he met. His memory will live on and inspire mercy and kindness in those whose lives he touched. Tal's laughter and warmth brought joy to everyone around him. He had a special way of making others feel comfortable and valued, and his friendship was a treasure to all who received it.

A simple obituary cannot fully encapsulate Tal's life, but it serves as a tribute to a man who was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Tal's life story is a vivid picture of dedication and service, leaving others inspired by his personal kindness.

Tal is survived by his longtime companion, Joey Champion; daughter, Rita Oates; sister-in-law, Linda Casey Langley; a niece, Tracey Langley Bowens and husband, Gary of Goldsboro; and sister, Ruth Kennedy of Augusta, GA. Tal is also survived by numerous friends, each a cherished family member in their own right. His legacy will continue to influence the community he loved so dearly.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will forever be remembered for his simple, unassuming nature and his profound impact on the lives he touched.

Everyone who remembers Tal is asked to celebrate Tal's life in their own way. A simple celebration of life will be held with close friends and family at Tal's home.

In lieu of flowers, Tal would hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in his name.
