Tamara Darling Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2022.
Tamara Lynn Southard Darling left us far too early on Monday, September 19th, 2022, surrounded by love, at her home in Eagle.

Tammy, as she was so affectionately known, was born February 19th, 1964 in Glendale, California to Stephen Southard and Pamela Wahl Southard. She was the little sister of Sharon and the big sister of Sandy. When Tammy was five years old, her mom, dad, and sisters moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to family. In 1980, Tammy met the love of her life, Scott Darling. They were married in 1984 and were inseparable until her death. Tammy tried so valiantly to stay with us. Even while she was under the care of her hospice nurses, she spoke of her plans and ideas for remodeling, trips she wanted to take, and parties she wanted to throw. Her friends and family surrounded her as she passed from this world. Her adoring husband Scott kept a vigil by her side and attended to her every need. No wife has ever been cared for so tenderly and diligently or loved so fervently than she. Her family would like to thank her sister-in-law Cyndi and the nursing staff of Keystone Hospice for the gentle and thorough care provided to Tammy at the end of her life.

Tammy loved her family more than anything. She adored her husband Scott and daughter Erica, but the light of her life was her grandson, Bryson. Her eyes would light up when she spoke of him, and her best memories were made when she was spending time with her 'Mr. Man', as she so lovingly referred to him.

Tammy had uncountable interests, hobbies, side hustles, and projects-in-planning. Her fun and eclectic style could be enjoyed inside and outside her home. Everywhere you looked, there was something fun to behold. Her touch was on everything and everyone around her. She had a passion for every animal, every sunset, every sunrise, babies, her chickens, flowers, and she never met a dog she didn't love. She is survived by Moose, who misses her deeply. We know that when Tammy arrived in Heaven, she was greeted by all the slobbery kisses from Sadie, Heidi and Zoey.

Tammy grew up in Boise, attending Maple Grove and Garfield Elementary Schools, South Junior High, where she was a cheerleader and voted 'Best Hair', Borah High, and finally graduating from Boise High School with her Aunt Sue. Over the years, Tammy worked at Blue Cross of Idaho, Boise Cascade, and Parklane Management company, but her true entrepreneurial and creative talents shined when she started her own business, Silver Spoons. You could usually find her burning the midnight oil in her workshop, creating all kinds of beautiful jewelry and objects of art to sell at her booth at the Capital City Public Market, Hyde Park Street Fair, and Art In The Park.

Tammy was taken from us far too soon. She had more camping trips with her friends to enjoy, more nights around the fire with her pals to be warmed by, more boat and razr rides to take, more dogs to pet and animals to love, more beautiful art to create, and more friends to make. We will never forget you, Tam. Your hilarious sense of humor, your infectious laugh, your courage in always defending the underdog, your wit and wisdom, and your unique ability to see into the hearts and souls of all of us will be cherished and missed forever. She leaves behind her broken-hearted husband, Scott, her beautiful daughter Erica, her cherished grandson Bryson, her devoted sisters Sharon and Sandy, her aunts, uncles, cousins, and sisters-in law, brothers-in-law Shane and Clint, adored nieces and nephews, and her friends who became her family. We will see you again, sweetest friend.

A celebration of Tammy's life will be held on Saturday, September 24th, at 7:00 pm, 1920 W. Oakhampton Drive, Eagle, Idaho. Bring a lawn chair to sit around the fire, a snack to share, and a beverage of your choice.

Beautifully written.. something that will stay with me forever is she hoped to be a "fairy godmother" in her after life journey so she could help people. With all her tribulations she still just wanted to help others.. words can't describe her ... she was so selfess and thoughtful.... love you auntie... miss you already.... thank you for bringing us together and helping us to strive for better.
