Knoxville - Ms. Tammy M. Brummitt, age 64, went home to be with her Lord March 12, 2025. Tammy was a 1978 graduate of West High School. She later graduated from Pellissippi State with her Business Management Degree. In 2004 Tammy attended the Knox County Sheriff Academy. She worked with the Knox County Sheriff's office for 20 years as a lieutenant and was voted detective of the month twice during her career. Tammy lived by the Methodist faith and had a great belief that Jesus Christ was her personal savior. She is preceded in death by; parents: Glenn A. Brummitt and Nola Ann Brummitt; brother: David Glenn Brummitt; and grandparents: Mitchell and Nola Jane Pass, Clyde Brummitt, and Ora Brummitt.

Marjorie Ford of Corryton, TN

Host of other cousins

A receiving of friends will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville (5613 Western Avenue Knoxville, TN 37921) , on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. ET with Rev. Barbara Clark officiating. A graveside service will be held the next day, Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, TN (699 East Strang St. Rockwood, TN 37854) 11:00 a.m. ET. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Ms. Tammy M. Brummitt.
