Tanny Jean Nadon

Tanny Jean Nadon May 15, 1941 - February 12, 2016

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beautiful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother Tanny Nadon, who passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Tanny will be forever in our hearts and so deeply missed by Rodney Nadon, her husband of 56 years, her five children and their spouses Laura Atyeo (Ed Atyeo), Michelle Nadon (Scott Hagen), Leslie Fenton (Jeff McLean), Jacqueline Nadon and Brad Nadon (Scott Harvey). Tanny was loved dearly by her three grandsons Glenn Atyeo (Nicole Hnatiuk), Brandon Atyeo (Dominique Atyeo) and Will Fenton, and was thrilled to welcome her first great granddaughter Alice Atyeo in December. Tanny will be lovingly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law Jerri and Clifford Calverly and family, and by sister-in-law Doreen Morrow and family. Tanny was predeceased by her parents Tilly and William Sherbinin.

Tanny inspired and connected with all whom she met, and her passion for literature, cooking, collecting and volunteering has influenced her family and colleagues throughout her life. She was a dedicated and selfless volunteer who devoted her time and resources to many organizations including the Alberta Society of Melanoma, the Canadian Cancer Action Network, the Cross Cancer Institute, and many other patient advocacy and mentorship programs. In recognition of her years of contributions to health care in our province, Tanny was presented the Alberta Medical Association's 2011 Medal of Honour, an achievement her family is so incredibly proud of.

A celebration of Tanny's life will be held the afternoon of June 18, 2016 at our family home near Sherwood Park.

Tanny was a passionate advocate of hospice and palliative care programs in Alberta. Memorial donations to Caritas Foundation in support of the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre/Mel Miller Hospice Unit 9Y would be so greatly appreciated.
